In addition to providing a common language, and thus facilitating communication among professionals, medical classifications aim to incorporate clinical and pathophysiological elements that help guide prognosis and, consequently, the most appropriate setting of treatment and treatment itself. Accordingly, utmost precision and accuracy are essential, even more so for diseases that are managed across various medical specialties, as it is typically the case for coronary artery disease (CAD).
