The European Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine (EJCRIM) - official journal of EFIM entirely dedicated to case reports - is seeking an Assistant Editor to join its editorial team and to be part of the Editorial Board of the journal.
This role is an opportunity for an experienced internal medicine physician to help to shape the dissemination of high-quality clinical case reports.
Please note that this is a voluntary position and does not include any financial compensation honorarium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate case reports submitted to the journal and working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, the Deputy Editor and the Editorial Office to ensure a smooth and rigorous peer-review process.
  • Ensure timely, rigorous, and fair editorial decisions based on expert peer reviews and in alignment with the journal’s aims and standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Medical Doctor with a broad knowledge of Internal Medicine and clinical expertise in a hospital setting.
  2. Ability to evaluate the significance, context, and broader implications of case reports across diverse areas of internal medicine.
  3. Knowledge of academic publishing mechanisms, including manuscript handling, peer-review process and publication practices.
  4. Familiarity with the ethical standards in scientific publishing, including issues of authorship, conflict of interest, and research integrity.
  5. Previous editorial experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  6. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).
